It means so much to us that you chose us. For many of us, not even our families visit. Today, we feel seen and special.
A day to remember and a day to forget, even for a moment. Coming with their own challenges, our aim was to create a day full of laughter, creativity, and celebration for the kids at the Children's Remand Home in Kisumu.
And on 19th December, Gran Sueño together with your support brought this vision to life.
One child expressed his feelings beautifully:

The day kicked off with a lively concert by local artist Leeroy Odhiambo, whose music immediately brought smiles and claps all around. From there, the day unfolded into a whirlwind of fun activities:
- Soccer tournament: Energy and teamwork filled the field as children competed, laughed, and cheered each other on.
- Art session: Young imaginations ran wild with colors, brushes, and creativity. Each child left with a piece of art to call their own.
- Music area: Whether dancing, singing, or trying their hand at DJing, the kids embraced every beat with joy.
Lunchtime brought everyone together, sharing a traditional Kenyan meal of chapati—simple, comforting, and full of warmth.
The highlight of the day was the talent show in the afternoon. Children took the stage to sing, dance, and perform, showcasing their talents with pride and courage. Every cheer, every smile, every clap reminded us why days like this are so important.
Seeing the children light up, hearing their laughter, and sharing in their creativity reminded us why we do what we do.
At Gran Sueño, we believe every child deserves to feel seen, loved, and celebrated. And thanks to the energy, creativity, and bravery of these incredible kids and our staff, our first event was a beautiful success.
